Robert Busseau

Founder of cas-tek

Over a 24-year career, Robert located, identified, and mitigated CBRNE threats in the continental United States, and abroad.

Initially he worked as an operator, hunting WMD in Iraq and disabling IED threats on the home front. More recently, Robert did this as the Commander of a Combined Explosives Exploitation Cell, in Afghanistan. Prior to his retirement from the Army, Robert served as the Deputy Commander of the 32nd Civil Support Team (Weapons of Mass Destruction), out of Fort Meade, Maryland.

He has diverse experience managing and training technical experts that range from Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technicians, Nuclear Medical Science Officers, electrical engineers, chemists, biologists, to Certified Industrial Hygienists. One of his greatest skills is to rapidly identify choke points and provide reliable improvement solutions in training and mentoring individuals and teams.

In addition to his years of on-the-ground experience, Robert is formally educated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management, a MS in Management, specializing in National Strategy and Army Operations, and a Master’s in Business Administration. Robert’s military training includes Explosive Ordnance Disposal School, the Advanced Access and Disablement Course, the NATO Biological and Chemical Disablement Course, and the Functional Area 52 Nuclear Counter Proliferations Course.

Since 2016, CAS-Tek LLC has provided high quality and realistic training to Chemical, Biological, Nuclear, Radiological and High Yield Explosive (CBRNE) Responders. Our clients include organizations within the Department of Defense and the Civil Authority.

The primary focus of CAS-Tek since the beginning, was to break those organizational stovepipes and ensure that responders are training closer to how they will meet those true disasters; As multi-jurisdictional and multi-functional teams.

To meet those goals, events are as realistic as possible, using actors and manikins with realistic injuries, live radionuclides, and high-grade simulants.  More importantly, CAS-Tek pulls the thread through each incident, identifying critical local threats and viable sources for hazardous materials. This means that every incident is an education on the area hazards and potential vectors including not only terrorism and criminal activity, but more common accidents and incidents resulting from negligence and natural disasters.

Our team is built on experience, with subject matter experts in Military Explosive Ordnance Disposal, CBRN, and Nuclear Counterproliferation, and Civilian experts in Law Enforcement, Fire, and Bomb Squad. Additionally, our training partners provide the in-depth knowledge of chemical and biological materials and weapons systems, along with some of the best movie make-up magic.

Working with CAS-Tek will strengthen your teams CBRNE skills and better prepare them to deal with the dangers of an everchanging world.
